چکیده

In the D = (n + m + 1) dimensional brane world scenario with m compact dimensions, the radion modulus can be stabilised by a massive bulk m-form antisymmetric field. We analyse some of the phenomenological aspects of this scenario. We find that the radion mass is smaller than the TeV scale, but larger than that in the case where the radion modulus is stabilised by a bulk scalar field. From the macroscopic n dimensional spacetime point of view, the m-form field mimics a set of p-form fields. We analyse the mass spectrum of these fields. The lowest mass is > ∼ TeV whereas, for any bulk or brane field, the excitations in the compact space have Planckian mass and are likely to reintroduce the hierarchy problem. Also, we analyse the couplings of the m-form field to the matter fields living on a brane. The present results are applicable to more general cases also. PACS numbers: 11.10.Kk, 04.50.+h, 11.25.Mj

Brane World Scenario with m-form field: Stabilisation of Radion Modulus and Self Tuning Solutions

We consider (n + m + 1) dimensional bulk spacetime, containing flat (n + m 1) dimensional parallel branes, with topology R ×Tm. We assume that the graviton and an m-form field are the only bulk fields and that the m-form field has non vanishing components along the T directions only. We then find that the m-form field, with suitable bulk and brane potentials, can stabilise the radion modulus at...

Spherically Symmetric Solutions in a New Braneworld Massive Gravity Theory

In this paper, a combination of the braneworld scenario and covariant de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) massive Gravity theory is proposed. In this setup, the five-dimensional bulk graviton is considered to be massive. The five dimensional nonlinear ghost-free massive gravity theory affects the 3-brane dynamics and the gravitational potential on the brane. Following the solutions with spherical s...

Brane Waves

In brane-world cosmology gravitational waves can propagate in the higher dimensions (i.e., in the ‘bulk’). In some appropriate regimes the bulk gravitational waves may be approximated by plane waves. We systematically study five-dimensional gravitational waves that are algebraically special and of type N. In the most physically relevant case the projected non-local stress tensor on the brane is...

The massive Elko spinor field in the de Sitter braneworld model

The Elko spinor field is a spin 1/2 fermionic quantum field with a mass dimension introduced as a candidate of dark matter. In this work, we study the localization of Elko fields on a de Sitter thick brane constructed by a canonical or phantom scalar field. By presenting the mass-independent potentials of Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes in the corresponding Schrödinger equations, it is shown that the E...

Vacuum destabilization from Kaluza-Klein modes in an inflating brane

We discuss the effects from the Kaluza-Klein modes in the brane world scenario when an interaction between bulk and brane fields is included. We focus on the bulk inflaton model, where a bulk field Ψ drives inflation in an almost AdS5 bulk bounded by an inflating brane. We couple Ψ to a brane scalar field φ representing matter on the brane. The bulk field Ψ is assumed to have a light mode, whos...
